We’d always intended to take a couple of days away from Stockholm for this trip, but never really decided on where. Gothenburg by train seemed feasible with an overnight stay; although we perhaps overestimated the scenic value of the journey in winter, the destination was entirely worthwhile.

On the top floor viewing level, there are these helpful windows that can be opened to avoid trying to take photos through glass. The red colour scheme (and height!) instantly reminded me of Mirror's Edge.

Since so much of the Scandinavian winter is spent in darkness, you'll often find candles or other light sources along the pavement. Here they'd arranged fairy lights amongst pine branches.
